Soldered Electronics is looking for an Embedded Hardware Engineer to design the electronics in our products, from schematic capture and PCB layout to board bring up and handover to production. The boards you design end up in devices we ship to customers and distributors in 85+ countries, so quality, timing, and discipline matter.

This is a hands-on engineering role, on-site in Osijek. You report to the Hardware Team Lead, work directly with embedded software engineers and our in-house manufacturing team, and your designs are reviewed by peers who care about the same standards you do. You deliver on time, communicate problems early and directly, follow the team's design rules, and help colleagues when they need you. The rest of the team covers firmware, manufacturing, and product management; your territory is the hardware everything else runs on.

Key responsibilities

• Designing schematics and multilayer PCB layouts in KiCad and Altium Designer

• Selecting components with availability, cost, and lifecycle in mind, and maintaining clean, buildable BOMs

• Bringing up and debugging your own boards with multimeter, oscilloscope, and logic analyzer, together with the firmware team

• Designing for manufacturing and test: working with our production team on panelization, testability, and test fixtures, and preparing production documentation

• Following team workflows for version control, component libraries, documentation, and design review

• Helping colleagues when they need support, and contributing to the team's collective standard

KPIs

The following KPIs define success for this role. We don't expect them on day one, but these are the targets you will be measured against:

• Within 1 month: 90% of assigned tasks delivered by the agreed deadline; for the remaining 10%, deviation communicated to the PM or lead at least 48 hours in advance

• Within 3 months: no more than one board revision caused by a design error before a product is released to production

• Within 3 months: consistent adherence to team workflows for version control, component library discipline, and production documentation (fabrication files, assembly notes, revision history)

You are

• A hardware engineer with at least 2 years of hands-on experience

• Confident with schematic creation and multilayer PCB layout in KiCad and/or Altium Designer

• Comfortable with microcontroller based digital design, mixed-signal PCBs, sensor design and low-power design

• Able to read a datasheet properly and defend the components you pick

• Capable of using testing tools such multimeter, oscilloscope, logic analyzer

• Detail-oriented and precise; you care about the boards you ship

• Collegial: you help your teammates and respect the standards the team has set

• Genuinely interested in electronics and how embedded systems work

• Good with spoken and written English
